Jaipur, Sep 26 A fire broke out at a private hospital in Jaipur district late Friday night, which triggered panic among patients and their attendants. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
The fire broke out in an operation theatre on the ground floor of the hospital, located on the Jaipur-Delhi highway, in the Chandwaji area, police said.
Smoke soon spread to the operation theatre and Medical Intensive Care Unit area, prompting patients to be evacuated from the wards.
Police and hospital staff shifted patients to safer areas, while several attendants themselves carried their family members out of the building.
A short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire, police said, adding that the exact cause is being ascertained, the police said, adding that no casualty was reported in the incident.
