New Delhi, Sep 23 Members of Youth Stands for Society (YSS) were allegedly detained on Wednesday by the Delhi Police while they were holding a protest near India Gate following the alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old in Aastha Kunj park, the organisation claimed.
In a post on X, YSS said its team had gone to India Gate to peacefully raise its voice on an issue but was detained by the Delhi Police.
“Today, the YSS team went to India Gate to peacefully raise its voice, but was detained by the Delhi Police,” the organisation said.
“We strongly condemn this. Raising our voice is our constitutional right. We will neither be afraid nor bow down,” it said.
The group tagged the Delhi Police and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in its post.
YSS did not specify the number of people allegedly detained or provide details about the police action but shared visuals of some of the members getting detained.
