Imphal, Sep 23 The Manipur Cabinet has approved the establishment of a 70-bed state dialysis centre at the TB Hospital in Imphal East district, government spokesperson Dr Sapam Ranjan said on Wednesday.
Sapam told reporters that the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh also approved compensation for landowners affected by power transmission lines in accordance with the revised Right of Way (RoW) compensation framework of the Government of India.
The proposed Manipur State Dialysis Centre will be operated under the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) and will provide specialised dialysis services to patients requiring regular treatment.
He said that “the facility is expected to ease the difficulties faced by patients who require dialysis at regular intervals and often have to wait for long hours to avail the service.”
He said that the dialysis centre will be operated under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), while beneficiaries under the Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) scheme, a medical assistance scheme, will be provided treatment free of cost.
Sapam also said that the decision was taken considering the increasing need for dialysis services in the state.
He noted that although dialysis facilities are presently available at government hospitals, the existing capacity remains insufficient to meet the requirement.
The new 70-bed centre, he added, will augment the existing dialysis infrastructure and provide greater access to patients.
He said that the Cabinet also approved compensation for landowners affected by power transmission lines in accordance with the revised Right of Way (RoW) compensation framework of the Government of India.
He stated that for externally aided projects and deposit works, including projects funded by the World Bank and Asian Development Bank and works related to railways, landowners will be entitled to compensation equivalent to 200 per cent of the land value for the area occupied by a tower base and 30 per cent of the land value for the land falling within the transmission corridor.
For state-funded projects, he said, compensation will be provided at 100 per cent of the land value for the area occupied by the tower base and 30 per cent of the land value for the land falling within the transmission corridor.
