Ranchi, Sep 25 The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Kolkata, in association with the Department of Information Technology and e-Governance, Jharkhand, organised a day-long workshop in Ranchi on Friday to train government officials on data security, privacy and compliance.
The workshop, on the ‘Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025’, was attended by senior officials from various departments, IT experts and administrative officers.
Addressing the workshop, Jharkhand IT Director Madhavi Mishra said the objective of the workshop is to ensure the protection of the personal data of ordinary citizens.
“People share their data based on trust in the government, and safeguarding this trust is our utmost responsibility. This workshop was organised to train officials from various departments on aspects related to data security, privacy, and compliance. Such training will not only strengthen the government machinery but also further reinforce citizens’ trust.”
She emphasised that rapid strides in digital governance bring new challenges that must be effectively addressed.
Experts said the responsibility for data security has increased alongside the growing use of digital platforms. They also outlined potential cyber risks and the challenges associated with data leaks.
