Guwahati, Sep 25 Two Bangladeshi women were detained without valid documents from a train at the Guwahati railway station while travelling to West Bengal, a senior police official said on Friday.
The women were apprehended from the Saraighat Express for allegedly entering India without valid documents, Guwahati Police DCP (Border) Kulendra Nath Deka told reporters here.
“Two fake Aadhaar cards containing addresses of West Bengal were seized from them,” he added.
According to police, preliminary inquiry revealed that the duo travelled from Dhaka to Sylhet, entered Meghalaya and then reached Guwahati by car.
Further investigation was underway, the DCP said.
