Jaipur, Sep 25 Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on Friday targeted the newly elected BJP mayor of Kota Anusuiya Goswami, after she visited Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s residence following her victory and purportedly kowtowed at the entrance ramp.
Birla is the Kota-Bundi MP.
Dotasra posted a video on X showing Goswami kneeling down and touching her forehead on the ramp outside Birla’s residence, and alleged that the visuals were an insult to the people’s mandate and democracy.
“These pictures, which embarrass the people’s mandate and democracy, are from outside Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s residence, Baikunth,” Dotasra said.
“The people of Kota are asking… Does this mayor belong to the people, or to those in power?” he said.
Goswami was elected Kota mayor on Friday after the BJP won mayoral elections in the Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota municipal corporations.
