Patna, Sep 24 The Bihar government has increased the salary, daily allowance and hospitality allowance of chairpersons and deputy chairpersons of various boards, commissions, corporations and committees entitled to ministerial facilities, according to a Cabinet Secretariat Department resolution.
Under the revised norms, the monthly salary of chairpersons and deputy chairpersons entitled to ministerial facilities has been increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 65,000, while the daily allowance has been raised from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,500, the resolution said on Thursday.
The monthly hospitality allowance has also been enhanced from Rs 18,000 to Rs 30,000 for chairpersons entitled to ministerial facilities, from Rs 17,500 to Rs 29,500 for those entitled to Minister of State facilities, and from Rs 17,000 to Rs 29,000 for those entitled to Deputy Minister facilities.
The revised provisions will come into force with immediate effect, according to the resolution dated September 23.
“Other facilities available under earlier government resolutions will remain unchanged,” it said.
In another notification issued on Thursday, the Cabinet Secretariat Department fixed a consolidated monthly amount of Rs 50,000 for members of the Bihar State Council towards honorarium, vehicle allowance and mobile recharge.
The department said the provision replaces an earlier clause in its August 14, 2025 notification concerning facilities available to the council’s deputy chairman, secretaries and members.
The revised provision will come into effect from the date of issuance of the notification, it said.
