Amritsar/Jaipur, Sep 24 Amazon on Thursday announced the launch of its ‘delivery-in-minutes’ service, Amazon Now, in Amritsar and Jaipur.
The service will offer a wide selection of daily essentials, from groceries including fruits & vegetables and frozen food, personal care, fashion and beauty products, to small appliances and more, to customers – all delivered within minutes, a statement said.
The customer demand in Amritsar is reflecting a growing preference for healthier staples alongside everyday needs. Demand is strong for personal care, home care and health & nutrition essentials, it said.
Amazon has launched its ultra-fast delivery service ‘Amazon Now’ in Jaipur, offering delivery of groceries and other daily-use products within minutes, the company said in a separate release.
“Amazon Now has crossed USD 1 billion in annualized gross sales in India, with orders doubling every quarter since launch, making it the fastest-growing e-commerce business unit in Amazon India’s history. As we scale to 100 cities by Diwali, customers in Amritsar can look forward to the same promise we have built over the past decade … ,” said Srikant Sree Ram, Director Everyday Essentials.
Amazon Now has expanded to 4 times more cities in as many cities in less than 10 weeks, taking delivery-in-minutes to over 60 Indian cities and towns ahead of the festive season, including tier II & III towns such as Padubidri, Tirupati, Guntur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Vellore, Dharwad, Warangal & Berhampur.
