Jaipur, Sep 26 Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on Saturday accused the state BJP government of ignoring farmers who have been protesting in Anupgarh district for several days, demanding irrigation water.
Dotasra said the farmers were demanding irrigation water, but the state government has neither given them any assurance nor found a solution so far.
“Farmers in Gharsana and Anupgarh have been on the streets for the past 16 days for their rightful share of water, but the BJP government has remained unmoved,” Dotasra said in a post on X.
He said that traders had also shut markets in support of the farmers’ agitation. He claimed that resentment was growing among the protesters.
Targeting the BJP, Dotasra alleged that the party was interested only in capturing power, whether through “vote theft” or misuse of the government machinery, and had little concern for people’s problems or the state’s development.
“The government’s attention is only on looting votes, capturing the mandate and forming boards,” he alleged.
Dotasra demanded that the state government hold talks with the protesting farmers, hear their demands and find a solution at the earliest.
