Jaipur, Sep 26 Rajasthan’s traditional textiles and handicrafts, including Bandhej, Leheriya, Sanganeri and Bagru prints and Jaipur’s Blue Pottery, have drawn interest from visitors at Tourism Expo Japan 2026, an official said on Saturday.
The Rajasthan Tourism Department is showcasing the state’s tourism and craft traditions at its pavilion at the international travel event.
Joint Director, Tourism, Ajay Sharma, who led the activities at the Rajasthan pavilion, interacted with Japanese visitors and travel and trade representatives.
He said that Rajasthan’s traditional attire represents much more than clothing and reflects the cultural identity, colours, designs and generations-old craftsmanship of different regions of the state, according to a release.
The release said that Japanese visitors were particularly interested in Bandhej and Leheriya and the hand-block printing traditions of Sanganer and Bagru.
Several visitors enquired about the techniques used to create these textiles and the traditional skills passed down through generations of artisans.
The department is using the expo to promote Rajasthan’s craft and textile traditions in the Japanese tourism market.
