Jaipur, Sep 25 Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot and Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra on Friday expressed concern over an alleged plot to kill former Sirohi MLA Sanyam Lodha, and demanded that those behind the conspiracy be identified and brought to justice.
Gehlot said the timely arrest of the alleged shooters by the Rajasthan Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) had averted a possible untoward incident.
“The news of a conspiracy to kill former MLA Sanyam Lodha is extremely worrying. The AGTF team caught the shooters in time, otherwise something untoward could have happened,” Gehlot said.
He praised the AGTF action and demanded that Lodha’s security be ensured.
“It is extremely important to find out who is behind this conspiracy. Police should reach the conspirators, expose them and take strict action,” Gehlot said.
He also asked Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to take the matter seriously and personally monitor it.
Dotasra also termed the alleged conspiracy and the arrest of the shooters a serious and worrying matter.
“The arrest of the shooters alone is not enough. Who hired the gunmen?
“Who hatched the murder conspiracy? Who provided the money and network? All these aspects also need to be investigated so that the entire conspiracy is exposed and every person involved faces strict action under the law,” Dotasra said.
Two accused were arrested in Jodhpur on September 20. During interrogation, they revealed the alleged conspiracy.
