New Delhi, Sep 24 State-owned thermal power producer Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam on Thursday paid its first-ever dividend of Rs 51.70 crore to NTPC.
Jharkhand-based Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (PVUNL) is a 74:26 joint venture of NTPC and Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd (JBVNL), the discom utility of Jharkhand.
The company has paid a dividend of Rs 51.70 crore to NTPC for FY26.
A ceremonial cheque was presented to NTPC Chairman Gurdeep Singh by PVUNL Chairman S Sundaram, CEO Ashok Kumar Sehgal, along with CFO Amit Rautela.
This is the first-ever dividend paid by PUVNL since the start of the power supply from the project in November 2025, CFO Rautela said.
“The company has delivered a strong financial performance in its very first year of commercial operations, with total income of Rs 1,148.48 crore, Ebitda of around Rs 467 crore and PAT of Rs. 127.16 crore (in FY26),” the CFO said.
The Board of Directors at its 57th Meeting held in May recommended a final dividend aggregating to Rs 69.87 crore for FY 2025-26, comprising Rs 51.70 crore to NTPC and Rs 18.17 crore to JV partner JBVNL.
PUVNL has set up 2,400 MW (800 MW unit x 3) at Patratu in Jharkhand at a cost of around Rs 19,000 crore.
While two units are operational, the company is progressing towards operationalising the third one.
The company supplies 85 per cent of power to Jharkhand.
