Chandigarh, Sep 24 Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday launched a mobile app that allows citizens to directly report corruption to the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB), including by uploading videos, audio recordings, photographs and other digital evidence.
The ‘Satark Haryana’ app, launched here as part of the state government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption, also enables users to directly connect with the SV&ACB helpline, access details and location of the concerned ACB officer in their district and download FIRs, among other features.
On the occasion, Saini took details about the functioning of the app from officials.
According to an official statement, one of the key features of the app is that citizens can contact the SV&ACB helpline without having to remember its number. By simply tapping the helpline option on the app, they can connect directly with the bureau.
The app also allows users to share any video, audio, photograph or other important information related to corruption with the SV&ACB. Complete confidentiality will be maintained during the process, the statement said.
The information shared through the app will also help create a systematic digital database of corruption-related information, which may be analysed and used in accordance with applicable rules in the future, it said.
For the convenience of citizens, all 23 districts of Haryana have been integrated into the app. If a person is visiting another district and needs to submit a complaint or information related to corruption, they can select the concerned district on the app to get the name and mobile number of the SV&ACB in-charge there.
Citizens will also be able to download copies of FIRs made available through the app as per the applicable procedure.
The ‘Satark Haryana’ app is currently available on the Google Play Store under the name ‘Satark Haryana’. It will soon be made available on the Apple App Store as well, based on its usage and outcomes.
SV&ACB chief Arshinder Singh Chawla appealed to the public to use the app to provide correct, genuine and fact-based information related to corruption.
He cautioned against uploading unnecessary or misleading information with the intention of maligning any officer or employee without facts or basis.
Chawla said action may be taken as per rules against anyone who deliberately uploads false, misleading or artificially created material, including fake content generated through artificial intelligence, while presenting it as genuine information.
He urged citizens to use the app responsibly and share only accurate information.
Chawla said the objective of the ‘Satark Haryana’ app is to make the exchange of information between citizens and the SV&ACB more effective.
He appealed to the people of Haryana to become part of the digital initiative against corruption and contribute to efforts to make the state corruption-free.
