Jaipur, Sep 23 BJP national president Nitin Nabin will visit Jaipur on Friday and address a programme to felicitate party councillors and other representatives who won the recent urban local body elections, state general secretary Shravan Singh said on Wednesday.
Nabin will begin his visit by participating in a cleanliness drive at Albert Hall at 7.30 am as part of the party’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Singh said.
He will later attend a programme at Dadiya village in Bagru at 11 am to mark the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya. BJP councillors and candidates from the recent urban local body elections will be felicitated at the event, which the party expects to be attended by around 50,000 workers, Singh said.
The ruling BJP in Rajasthan has won the posts of mayor, chairperson and president in 197 of the 301 urban local bodies for which results have been declared. They make more than twice the Congress tally of 94. The result of remaining bodies will be declared on Friday.
Nabin will also launch the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming panchayat elections from Dadiya by flagging off 90 campaign vehicles, which will travel to panchayats across Rajasthan to highlight the welfare and rural development schemes of the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state, Bagri said.
At 2.30 pm, Nabin will attend a youth dialogue programme at Birla Auditorium near Statue Circle, where he will interact with young people and share his views on the current national situation.
BJP state president Madan Rathore, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, state general secretary (organisation) and other senior party leaders will attend the programmes, Singh said.
