Malappuram (Keralam), Sep 25 Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday repeated his controversial “Nee po mone Vijaya” dialogue while receiving the Aryadan Muhammed Award here.
His only remaining ambition is to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister, he said.
Reddy had used the dialogue during the Keralam Assembly election campaign in April this year, adapting the famous “Nee po mone Dinesha” line from the Malayalam blockbuster “Narasimham” to target then Keralam CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
Recalling the episode while speaking at the award function held in memory of late Congress leader Aryadan Muhammed, Reddy said he had come to Keralam during the Assembly election campaign and reminded the gathering of the dialogue.
“…Nee po mone Vijaya,” he said.
“We asked people for their vote, and they have given us a government,” Reddy said.
He alleged that the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are fighting against secularism and the Constitution and said the best way to honour Aryadan Muhammed is to fight strongly to protect India and democracy.
“A political breeze is blowing from Keralam and becoming a storm, actually a tsunami,” he said.
Reddy said Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had been elected to Parliament from Keralam and recalled his political journey, saying he entered electoral politics as a District Panchayat member in 2006, later became an MLA and a Lok Sabha member, and then became Telangana chief minister in 2023.
He said he had no personal political ambition left after achieving his goals through the Congress and the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and K C Venugopal.
“I have a dream. My only dream left is to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister of India,” Reddy said.
He alleged that the NDA and PM Modi are “stealing everything”, including votes, political parties, property and funds, and were also the future of the country’s youth.
He also alleged that the electoral system and the Election Commission were being undermined.
Reddy said the political contest is between the Sangh Parivar and “Gandhi Parivar:, alleging that the former was trying to divide the country on the basis of caste, religion, region and language.
“The fight between Sangh Parivar and Gandhi Parivar– I am asking this nation to stand with Gandhi Parivar to defeat Sangh Parivar,” he said.
“Sangh Parivar is the biggest threat for the country and democracy. I am there to sacrifice my life for Gandhi Parivar to save this country,” Reddy said.
He said Keralam would lead the fight against the Sangh Parivar, claiming that the state has already indicated its opposition to the BJP-led political forces.
AICC general secretary K C Venugopal presented the Aryadan Muhammed Award to Reddy.
