Baripada (Odisha), Sep 25 Odisha police on Friday arrested a man for allegedly killing a woman on suspicion of practising witchcraft in Mayurbhanj district, an officer said.
The accused killed the woman by slitting her throat with a blade at Kendumundi under Karanjia police station in the tribal-populated district on the evening of September 23, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nabakrushna Naik said.
The police seized a motorcycle, the blade used in the crime and the accused’s shoes from the crime scene, he said.
The accused had suspected that the victim was practising witchcraft and was responsible for his elder brother’s death, the police said.
