Shimla, Sep 25 Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for six development projects worth Rs 237.23 crore Sirmaur district during his visit there.
The projects included a Rs 26.51-crore Lift Water Supply Scheme, which would facilitate supply of water from Giri river to various villages such as Narag Nohra, Dilman, Saria, Mehlog Lal Tiker, Daron Deoria Drabali, Sarol Chameji, Wasni and Naina Tikker; and the Rs 2.86 crore Water Supply Scheme for various villages under Bani-Bakholi, Surla-Janot and Sadhana-Ghat gram panchayats in Pachchad tehsil.
The other projects were the Rs 1.57 crore Water Supply Scheme that covers habitations of Chhog Tali gram panchayat and Sanio Deedag; the Rs 1.25 crore Lift Irrigation Scheme for Dhanach Chukhrial and adjoining villages in Shaya Sanora gram panchayat; and the Rs 1.52 crore Lift Irrigation Scheme for Maloh Mashog and adjoining villages under Jal Shakti Sub-Division Chandol in Rajgarh tehsil.
Additionally, Sukhu laid the foundation stone for Rs 203.52 crore Chhailla-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti road.
Speaking on the occasion, Sukhu said these development projects would significantly strengthen basic infrastructure and improve the delivery of essential public services to the people of the area.
He said Chhailla-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti road will provide a reliable and improved transportation route for apple growers, enabling them to transport their produce from orchards to markets and collection centres faster and more conveniently.
“This will help in reducing transportation time and post-harvest losses, while facilitating better access to major markets for horticultural produce. This alternate connectivity will help ensure smoother movement of vehicles and strengthen the overall road network of the area,” the chief minister said.
