Jaipur, Sep 25 BJP’s Rajasthan in-charge Sanjay Bhatia asked party workers on Friday to begin preparations for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections, stating the party would formulate its strategy based on its campaign in the recently held urban local body polls.
“The workers’ hard work and the work done by the government yielded positive results in the urban local body elections. I congratulate and thank all of them,” Bhatia said.
In 309 urban local body elections held in September 2026, including ten municipal corporations, the BJP formed boards in over 200 local bodies.
He said the party would enter the Panchayati Raj elections with a strategy based on coordination between the government and the organisation.
“We must formulate our strategy for the Panchayat elections along the same lines as our coordination between the government and the organisation during the urban local body elections,” he said.
Bhatia said the BJP’s organisational strength and the government’s welfare programmes had helped it expand its reach. The BJP leader said the benefits of schemes of the Narendra Modi government, including Ujjwala, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat and PM-Kisan, had reached villages and households.
BJP state president Madan Rathore, former state presidents Ashok Parnami and Arun Chaturvedi and senior leader Rajendra Rathore were among those present.
Bhatia, recently appointed to the post, held his first organisational meeting at the party’s state headquarters here with state office-bearers, district presidents and those in charge of various fronts and divisions.
The date for the Panchayati Raj elections is expected to be declared in the next few days. The elections are to be completed before November 15.
