New Delhi, Sep 25 Delhi is likely to receive a spell of light rain at isolated places at night, with the maximum temperature settling at 33 degrees Celsius, 1.3 degrees below normal, the weather office said.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a generally cloudy sky with very light rain or drizzle at isolated places at night. Surface winds are likely to reach 20-30 kmph, occasionally gusting up to 40 kmph during the night.
The humidity was recorded at 81 per cent in the evening hours.
Station-wise data showed that the maximum temperature at Palam was 31.2 degrees Celsius, 3.5 degrees below normal, while Lodi Road and the Ridge recorded 32.3 degrees Celsius, 0.7 degree and 1.9 degrees below normal, respectively. Ayanagar recorded a maximum temperature of 31.9 degrees Celsius, 2.2 degrees below normal.
For Saturday, the IMD has issued a ‘yellow alert’, forecasting generally cloudy skies with moderate rain.
Delhi woke up to a sunny morning, with the minimum temperature settling at 24.2 degrees Celsius, 0.3 degree above normal.
The minimum temperature at Palam was 21.4 degrees Celsius, 2.5 degrees below normal, while Lodhi Road recorded 23.7 degrees Celsius, 0.7 degree above normal.
The Ridge recorded a minimum temperature of 20.5 degrees Celsius, 3.2 degrees below normal, while Ayanagar recorded 23.4 degrees Celsius, 0.2 degree below normal.
Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) stood at 76 at 7 pm, falling in the “satisfactory” category, which is likely to persist over the next two days, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
Under the CPCB’s AQI scale, a reading of 0-50 is considered “good”, 51-100 “satisfactory”, 101-200 “moderate”, 201-300 “poor”, 301-400 “very poor” and 401-500 “severe”.
