Thane, Sep 24 (PTI) A 34-year-old man died after being electrocuted by a metal window frame carrying current while talking on his mobile phone at his house in Maharashtra’s Thane city, police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred at a chawl (row tenement) in the Manpada area on September 21.
The man, Mohit Rahul Bhavar (34), was speaking on his mobile phone when he inadvertently touched a nearby window frame, not realising it was live with current, a police official said.
He suffered a severe electric shock and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead, the official said.
The police registered an Accidental Death Report and were probing the source of the electrical leakage that charged the window frame.
