Jaipur, Sep 22 (PTI) The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested three government employees in two separate bribery cases in Alwar and Karauli districts, officials said.
In Alwar, assistant engineer Shivram and junior engineer Minna Khan of Kathumar panchayat samiti were arrested for allegedly accepting Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively, for processing payment of a pending Rs 2.52 lakh bill of a firm, the ACB said.
The officials had allegedly demanded Rs 40,000 and Rs 15,000, respectively, from the complainant. The bribe demands were verified on September 18, following which the ACB laid a trap and caught them accepting the money on Tuesday, it said.
In a separate case in Karauli, ACB officials arrested Jaipur Discom technician and assistant storekeeper Jagdish Bairwa for allegedly accepting Rs 8,000 to provide a replacement for a burnt electrical transformer.
The ACB said Bairwa had allegedly demanded Rs 9,000 and was caught accepting Rs 8,000 at the assistant engineer’s office in Hindaun City.
Cases have been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is underway, officials said.
