Bengaluru, Sep 23 A man was allegedly killed by his distant relative following a quarrel over opening a separate shop in JP Nagar here, police said on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Raju Singh. He has been residing in Bengaluru for the past 30 years and was running a household goods shop here, they said.
The incident occurred between 7.20 pm and 7.45 pm on September 22 inside his shop in J P Nagar here, police said.
According to police, Singh was brutally murdered at the shop. The accused, Harisingh (41), a distant relative who had been working with him since 2006, was pressuring him to open a separate shop for him.
As the victim had asked for one year’s time to invest capital, there had been quarrels between the two for the past three days, a senior police officer said.
On the evening of September 22, when Singh was alone at the shop, the accused went there, quarrelled with him and assaulted him on the head, killing him, and later informed the victim’s daughter about the matter and fled, he said.
Singh was found dead in a pool of blood with severe injuries to his head and face, the officer said.
Based on the complaint given by the deceased’s daughter, an FIR has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder, he said.
Senior officers, FSL personnel and the crime investigation team visited the spot and inspected it, police said, adding that further investigation is underway.
