Gurugram, Sep 24 Palwal police arrested 58 wanted suspects, including 13 proclaimed offenders and 45 bail jumpers, during a week-long special drive against those evading arrest in serious criminal cases, officials said on Thursday.
The week-long campaign was conducted from September 16 to 22 to apprehend long-absconding proclaimed offenders and bail jumpers, police said.
“The Palwal police is committed to putting proclaimed offenders behind bars. Arrested key accused include Arif, wanted in a 2015 dacoity case, Majid, absconding in a theft case since 2011, Rakesh and Abhishek, wanted for serious offences such as kidnapping and violations of the POCSO Act. Additionally, several bail jumpers, who had evaded police custody for years while facing charges for serious crimes, including violations of the Arms Act and Excise Act, as well as fraud, robbery, and looting, have been arrested,” said Deepti Garg, SP of Palwal.
She added that Palwal police will spare no effort to teach offenders a lesson.
“Several miscreants have already been identified and are on the police’s radar; they will soon find themselves behind bars. The campaign is yielding positive results in curbing crime,” Garg said.
