Lucknow, Sep 24 A 75-year-old man was allegedly bludgeoned to death with bricks by his ailing son following a dispute over money for treatment in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur, while the 19-year-old son of a village head was found dead in Muzaffarnagar, police said on Thursday.
In Hamirpur’s Paraunjhi village, 35-year-old Ramzan allegedly killed his father Nawab Ali late Wednesday night after repeatedly demanding money for his treatment.
Police said Ramzan allegedly pressed his father’s mouth and hit him on the head with bricks before lying down on a cot beside the body.
“Ramzan has admitted to the killing,” Kotwali in-charge Vinod Kumar said. The accused was detained and the body sent for post-mortem.
In Muzaffarnagar, the body of 19-year-old Rohan Rathi, son of village head Vivek Rathi, was found in a field near Hareti village under Purkazi police station on Thursday. Police said the body bore injury marks.
“The body has been sent for post-mortem and three police teams have been formed to arrest the accused,” SP City Amrit Jain said.
Additional police personnel were deployed in the village as a precaution.
In a separate incident in Lucknow, a woman in her 60s was found unconscious inside the boundary wall of a house in Padmini Kheda village around 1 am. She was taken to the community health centre, where doctors declared her dead.
“Three suspects have been detained for questioning,” DCP (South) Mohd Mustaque said, adding that CCTV footage and other evidence were being examined and further legal action would follow based on the findings. The body has been sent for autopsy.
