Sambhal, Sep 24 A man and his seven-year-old son were killed and three others injured when a speeding truck allegedly rammed into their car on the Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal on Friday, police said.
The accident occurred around 11 am near Fatehpur Shamsoui village, SHO Rajiv Kumar Malik said.
The deceased were identified as Jafrul Hasan (50) and his son Arsh Mohammad. Hasan’s wife Nazish (47) was seriously injured and referred to a higher medical centre, while their five-year-old son Ahil and car driver Sameer, a resident of Delhi’s Khajuri, suffered minor injuries, the police said.
The family had travelled to Budaun to attend a funeral in their extended family and was returning to Delhi when the accident occurred.
The injured were taken by ambulance to a government hospital in Bahjoi, where doctors declared the father and son dead. The bodies were sent for necessary legal proceedings, while treatment of the injured was underway, police said.
Sameer told police that the car was hit by the truck while it was trying to give the truck side on the expressway.
