Jaipur, Sep 23 Temperatures rose in several parts of Rajasthan, particularly border areas, as the southwest monsoon began withdrawing from parts of the state, the Meteorological Centre said on Wednesday.
Jaisalmer recorded the highest maximum temperature at 41.5 degrees Celsius in the 24 hours ending Wednesday morning, followed by 39.6 degrees each in Churu and Pilani.
The weather office said conditions were favourable for the monsoon to withdraw from some more parts of the state in the coming days. Rajasthan is likely to remain largely dry this week.
Eastern Rajasthan recorded light rain at one or two places, with Dungarpur receiving the highest rainfall of 2 mm, while western Rajasthan remained dry.
