Imphal, Sep 24 A 22-year-old man has been arrested and four foreign-origin gold bars have been seized from his possession in Manipur’s Imphal West district, a police statement said on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off about the illegal transportation of gold, a police team intercepted the man, identified as Md Shoaib Akhtar, in the North AOC area and seized gold bars weighing 664 gm on Wednesday, it said.
The arrested man and the seized items have been handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for further legal action, it added.
