Amaravati, Sep 23 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said Amaravati had gained national attention and was receiving global recognition as a greenfield capital city.
Addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone for a private eye hospital at Abbarajupalem in Amaravati, the CM said the greenfield capital was being developed as a “no pole, blue-green city”, powered by green energy and deep tech and adhering to carbon-neutral standards.
“Now the entire country is talking about Amaravati. Our Amaravati is a people’s capital. The entire world is recognising it,” Naidu said.
The CM said construction works worth Rs 50,000 crore were currently underway in Amaravati, while key infrastructure projects such as inner and outer ring roads, a sports city and an international airport were planned for the capital.
Naidu said the government had prepared plans to establish a quantum computing ecosystem in the state, building on its earlier focus on information technology.
He said Amaravati would host the country’s first quantum computing centre, with IBM, TCS and L&T jointly installing a quantum computer with a capacity of 133 qubits.
According to Naidu, 21 quantum computing startups had already come forward to set up operations in the greenfield city.
He said 5 quantum computing companies had developed 3-qubit computers.
Quantum computers would also be installed at various universities on October 3, Naidu said.
Amaravati was being developed as a hub for the knowledge economy, research, healthcare and human development, the CM said.
He said the capital would also emerge as a hub for artificial intelligence, laboratory automation, experimental biology and a quantum bio-valley.
Stating that Amaravati would become a major centre of financial activity with the proposed banking street, Naidu announced that a Pan-IIT Conference would be held in Vijayawada on October 3.
Experts who studied at various IITs and are now settled across the world would participate in the conference to deliberate on future development, technology and innovation, he said.
Expressing hope that the capital would become a destination for world-class living standards and research, the CM called upon the youth to make use of emerging technologies and opportunities and strive for excellence.
