Gangtok, Sep 23 Darjeeling MP Raju Bista has been appointed as the Sikkim BJP unit in-charge as part of the party’s organisational restructuring, the saffron party said on Wednesday.
The BJP Sikkim media cell, in a press statement, said the party welcomed Bista and expressed confidence that his organisational experience, “youthful energy and commitment to public service” would further strengthen the organisation across the state.
BJP Sikkim president DR Thapa congratulated Bista on his appointment and said the state unit looked forward to working under his guidance with “unity, dedication and renewed organisational energy”.
Bista’s appointment comes as the BJP seeks to strengthen its organisation and grassroots presence in Sikkim.
The state unit also thanked outgoing in-charge Dilip Jaiswal for his “dedicated guidance and leadership over the years”, saying his tenure had contributed to strengthening the organisation, nurturing party workers and expanding its presence across the state.
The BJP Sikkim unit said it would continue working under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Nitin Nabin.
