Patna, Sep 23 A Bihar police constable allegedly shot his sister dead with his service pistol before turning the weapon on himself in Patna’s Danapur area, officials said here on Wednesday.
City Superintendent of Police (West) Sanket Kumar said the incident might have been the fallout of frequent bickering within the family over the sister’s mental health challenges.
“Danapur police station received information on Tuesday evening that two persons sustained bullet injuries. Upon reaching the spot, police found that the constable had fatally shot his sister and then killed himself inside his house,” the officer said.
Police recovered the service revolver from the spot.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, said the SP.
