Tadepalli, Sep15: The YSRCP will stage a protest outside the SAAP office in Vijayawada on September 21, demanding a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment process, particularly appointments made under the sports quota.
Former minister and YSRCP Guntur district president Ambati Rambabu announced the protest during a press conference at the party’s central office in Tadepalli. He was accompanied by former MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and YSRCP NTR district president Devineni Avinash.
Rambabu demanded a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities and called for the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh.
He alleged that in the sports quota, ineligible candidates were given jobs using fake or questionable certificates, while deserving candidates were denied employment.
According to Rambabu, the issue has become more serious as some sports certificates have reportedly been found to be fake during scrutiny by government departments. He also claimed that even some candidates who secured jobs were unable to explain why they had been selected, raising questions over the recruitment process.
Rambabu questioned why the government was not ordering an independent investigation despite allegations and doubts being raised over the DSC recruitment process.
“If no wrong doing has taken place in the DSC recruitment, why is the government reluctant to order a CBI inquiry?” Rambabu questioned.
Rambabu alleged that deserving candidates who had worked hard and appeared for the examinations with hopes of securing government jobs had been treated unfairly.
He said former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had already demanded a CBI inquiry into both the alleged APPSC irregularities and the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment.
Rambabu said the government had so far failed to provide a satisfactory response to the demand for a probe.
The former minister warned that the YSRCP would continue its agitation until justice was delivered to all eligible DSC candidates who were allegedly affected by irregularities in the recruitment process.
The September 21 protest outside the SAAP office in Vijayawada will be part of the party’s campaign demanding accountability and a CBI investigation into the alleged recruitment irregularities.
