The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday, May 14, 2026 launched the third phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls — the most comprehensive voter list verification exercise in the country’s recent history. The exercise covers 16 states and three Union Territories, encompassing over 36.73 crore electors, with more than 3.94 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs) conducting door-to-door verification supported by 3.42 lakh Booth Level Agents appointed by political parties. Andhra Pradesh is among the states covered in this phase, with the process set to begin on June 5, 2026.

Andhra Pradesh — Complete SIR Schedule

For Andhra Pradesh, the qualifying date for the revision is July 1, 2026. The full timeline is as follows:

What AP Voters Need to Know

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar appealed to all electors to enthusiastically participate in Phase III of SIR and fill out their enumeration forms, stating the exercise is being conducted to ensure only eligible voters are included in the electoral roll and no ineligible names remain.

When BLOs arrive at your door between June 15 and July 14, residents should:

  • Provide correct name, age, and address details
  • Ensure all eligible family members aged 18 and above are enrolled
  • Report any deceased, shifted, or duplicate entries
  • Raise objections on the draft roll between July 21 and August 20

The final, clean electoral roll for Andhra Pradesh will be published on September 22, 2026 — and is expected to form the basis for all future elections in the state.
