Hyderabad, Sep 9: Telangana Assembly Speaker suspended BRS MLAs for the entire ongoing session on the grounds of disrupting the proceedings and preventing the House from functioning smoothly.
The suspension resolution was moved by Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu after repeated disruptions by BRS members. The move triggered heated scenes in the Assembly.
The suspended MLAs include K. T. Rama Rao, T. Harish Rao, Padi Kaushik Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, P. Sabitha Indra Reddy, Sanjay Kumar, Sudheer Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, V. Sunitha Laxma Reddy, Gangula Kamalakar, Anil, Kova Lakshmi, Chinta Prabhakar, Manik Rao, Prashanth Reddy, Kaleru Venkatesh, Vijayaudu and K. P. Vivekanand.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Sridhar Babu repeatedly appealed to BRS members to allow the Assembly to function, assuring them that the government would respond to their questions.
However, BRS MLAs continued to raise slogans against the government and disrupt proceedings, leading the Speaker to take disciplinary action. The mass suspension has further escalated tensions between the ruling Congress and opposition BRS in the Telangana Assembly.
