Jaipur, Sep 23 A major fire broke out at a luxury car company’s workshop in Sitapura area here, damaging several cars and spare parts, police said on Wednesday.
No casualty was reported in the fire that broke out at the workshop in Balaji Market on Tuesday night.
More than 50 new and old cars were parked at the workshop when the fire broke out. Some of them were gutted in the fire. Police and fire personnel managed to move several vehicles to safety before the flames spread further.
Around eight cars, accessories and costly spare parts were gutted in the fire.
Fire officer Usha Sharma said that around 10 fire tenders were pressed into service to bring the blaze under control.
Electricity supply in the surrounding area was also disconnected as a precaution.
A short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire, according to the preliminary investigation, the police said.
