Muzaffarnagar/Meerut, Sep 22 BJP president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday expressed confidence that his party would retain power in Uttar Pradesh for a third consecutive term in the 2027 Assembly elections, citing the response of party workers and people during his ongoing visit to western UP.
Tuesday was the second and final day of Nabin’s two-day visit to western UP, focused primarily on strengthening the party organisation ahead of the Assembly elections.
“The sense I get from the ground is very positive. We are confident of BJP win in 2027,” Nabin told reporters in Muzaffarnagar after being given a welcome by party workers and leaders.
In Saharanpur, the BJP chief offered prayers at the Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Temple and sought blessings for the welfare of the entire nation, including Uttar Pradesh, according to the party. He also had lunch at the residence of Shri Ajab Singh, president of the Shri Ravidas Temple Committee, the party said.
Nabin travelled by road from Meerut to Saharanpur via Muzaffarnagar, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary and other party leaders. At Muzaffarnagar, state minister Kapil Dev Aggarwal was among those who welcomed the BJP chief.
Aggarwal said party workers were enthusiastic about Nabin’s visit to the region.
The BJP president had visited Meerut on Monday, where he participated in organisational programmes and addressed party workers.
During his road journey from Meerut, Nabin’s convoy passed through the Siwaya toll plaza in Meerut district, where local BJP office-bearers and workers had assembled to welcome him. However, the convoy did not stop at the toll plaza, though Nabin waved to those gathered there from inside the car only before proceeding towards Muzaffarnagar.
The BJP chief offered prayers at the Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Temple in Saharanpur and sought blessings for the welfare of the entire nation, including Uttar Pradesh, the UP unit of the party said in a statement.
He urged people to assimilate Sant Shiromani Ravidas Ji’s message of social harmony and equality. Members of the Dalit community presented him with a statue of Ravidas Maharaj and a book.
Speaking to the media, Nabin said that by following the ideals of Sant Ravidas Ji, the double-engine government is fulfilling the pledge to ensure dignity for every individual standing at the last rung of society and to bring them into the mainstream.
He added that the country is currently celebrating the 650th birth anniversary year of Sant Ravidas Ji.
“We are moving forward by uniting society and bringing together people from every community and region in a spirit of harmony. The state is making continuous progress towards becoming a ‘Developed Uttar Pradesh’ while simultaneously upholding its heritage,” he said.
Following this visit, the BJP chief had lunch at the residence of Shri Ajab Singh, president of the Shri Ravidas Temple Committee, in Ojpura, Saharanpur, the statement said.
Addressing party workers, Nabin said, “The enthusiasm and energy of the party workers clearly indicate that the BJP will once again form a government with a massive majority in 2027.”
“BJP workers toil round the clock. Neither our workers nor our leaders are part-time politicians. Our sole objective is to serve the people. Given the zeal and enthusiasm visible among the workers, and the firm resolve to form a BJP government in Uttar Pradesh once again that is evident everywhere, I am fully confident that the BJP will successfully achieve its ‘Mission 2027’,” he said.
