Selective Silence – Ruthless Suppression @Redbook tales

  • This is nothing but systematic character assassination being carried out in broad daylight.
  • The extremist ITDP network has turned social media into a daily factory of abuse and misinformation.
  • Official TDP platforms themselves are circulating dangerous and objectionable content, including morphed visuals depicting YS Jagan with weapons.
  • The attacks have stooped to the lowest level, with vulgar and targeted harassment of women and family members, including mother and sister.
  • Despite the scale and severity, there is complete inaction against TDP activists, exposing blatant bias.
  • Even disgusting comparisons with terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda have gone unchecked, with no accountability whatsoever.
  • At the same time, those who question governance failures are being hunted down with false cases and systematic harassment.
  • The Chandrababu government’s so-called “Red Book” governance is now widely seen as a tool for vendetta and suppression, not administration.
  • Public anger is steadily rising as people witness selective justice, political targeting, and the erosion of democratic rights.

There is growing criticism across the state that no action is being taken against the abusive and defamatory posts made daily by the ITDP network targeting former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan and party leaders. At the same time, those who question the failures and false promises of the Chandrababu government are being targeted with illegal cases. Since the coalition government came to power, anyone raising questions on social media is facing harassment, leading to allegations that democratic rights are being suppressed under “Red Book” governance.

Questioning leads to harassment
There is a strong perception that anyone questioning the government’s failure to implement pre-election promises like Super Six and Super Seven is being targeted with false cases. Whether it is issues related to women’s welfare funds, jobs, unemployment allowance, pensions at 50, free gas, Annadata Sukhibhava, fee reimbursement dues, Aarogyasri dues, or privatization of medical colleges—any social media post questioning these is being met with punitive action. Victims allege that the “Red Book” is being used as a tool to silence criticism.

YSRCP leaders and workers targeted
Criticism is mounting that YSRCP leaders and grassroots workers are being specifically targeted. From ordinary activists to senior leaders close to YS Jagan, surveillance, illegal cases, and repeated police harassment have become routine. In many cases, complaints are allegedly filed through TDP activists in distant districts, followed by unlawful detention and harassment resembling abduction. Hundreds of social media activists are reportedly being booked in false cases to create fear and suppress dissent.

No Action on abusive content
Despite continuous abusive content from ITDP targeting YS Jagan, his family, and YSRCP leaders, there is no visible action from the police. Even highly objectionable and vulgar posts, including morphed images and defamatory content, are ignored. Analysts point out that such selective inaction exposes bias in enforcement.

Character assassination as a Strategy

TDP-affiliated social media activists are increasingly resorting to vulgar abuse, targeting not just leaders but also women and family members. This trend has intensified after the coalition government came to power. Opposition leaders accuse that such content is being systematically promoted from party offices with the knowledge of senior leadership, raising concerns over the erosion of democratic discourse.

Organised campaign since the beginning
Critics argue that this pattern of attacks has existed since earlier political phases, evolving into a coordinated campaign involving media debates, social media amplification, and eventually abusive trolling. TDP’s central office is alleged to be playing a key role in shaping and disseminating such content systematically.

Creation of coordinated Networks
It is further alleged that organised social media networks have been built across constituencies to target YS Jagan, his family, and YSRCP leaders. These networks allegedly promote defamatory content through YouTube channels and high-reach social media accounts, making it viral through coordinated amplification.

Demand for accountability
YSRCP has questioned why no action has been taken despite hundreds of complaints against abusive posts by TDP activists. It has asked why no arrests have been made and why law enforcement has failed to act if there is genuine intent to curb such content. The party has demanded accountability from the Chandrababu government, warning that continued inaction would further damage democratic values in the state.
